You’ve reached my site which attempts to take a horizontal look at all 400 episodes of the popular true crime series Forensic Files. By gathering each episode’s data, I make comparisons across the hundreds of cases the series has covered during its historic 16-year run. Originally called Medical Detectives, the series focuses on the forensic clues, tools, techniques, and science behind discovering the facts that lead to each case’s resolution.
If you’re not yet familiar with the show, Forensic Files is a 30-minute-format documentary series that is known for its high production value. Focusing on how events unfolded and relaying the facts of each case, the show’s content consists of reenactments and interviews. In each case, Forensic Files includes commentary from the investigators, law enforcement officials, prosecutors, scientific experts, victims and their families, and even at times the perpetrators. A majority of the episodes document crimes, particularly murders. Occasionally an episode will cover the forensic clues left at an accident scene or discovered during the investigation of an outbreak.
One particular standout in the series is the amazing narration performed in all 400 episodes by the late Peter Thomas. His clear, articulate speech sets the pacing and cadence for the show which has never been matched.
